The School actively pursues collaborations with industry. It maintains strong ties with key industry drivers through a programme of staff attachments, joint research and development projects, as well as the establishment of cutting-edge laboratories. Agilent Technologies Singapore (Sales) Pte Ltd Agilent Technologies will collaborate with Republic Polytechnic through joint development laboratories, training programs, curriculum development, and participation in the Academic Adjunct Scheme and Industry Associate Scheme. Apple Apple and Republic Polytechnic will embark on joint development laboratories, staff development programs, and curriculum development. Avaya Singapore Pte Ltd Avaya and Republic Polytechnic will explore collaborative opportunities in joint training and development programs, applications in Internet Protocol telephony, and the Academic Adjunct and Industry Associate schemes. Cisco Systems (USA) Pte Ltd Cisco will collaborate with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of the establishment of a network academy, joint development programs and facilities, and staff development through the Academic Adjunct and Industry Associate schemes. Fujitsu Asia Pte LtdFujitsu will explore opportunities for collaboration and joint development with Republic Polytechnic's School of Information Communications Technology. Hewlett-Packard Singapore (Sales) Pte Ltd HP will explore collaboration opportunities with Republic Polytechnic in the area of staff development. Hitachi Data Systems Pte Ltd HDS is exploring collaborative opportunities with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of staff development, the setting up of a storage area network center at the polytechnic, curriculum development, and the establishment of joint development projects, among others. IBM Singapore Pte Ltd IBM will explore collaborative initiatives with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of the joint development of a laboratory, the Academic Adjunct Scheme and Industry Associate Scheme, as well as other joint development activities. Internet Security Systems Pte Ltd ISS will be exploring collaborative opportunities with Republic Polytechnic in the establishment of joint development laboratories in the area of Internet protection. This lab will play an important role in facilitating joint security education programs, initiatives or projects and create opportunities for both staff and students to experience and learn the latest internet security technologies, threats and issues. Macromedia Macromedia will be collaborating with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of the Industry Associate Scheme to develop proof-of-concept solutions for clients, as well as the usage of Macromedia tools within the polytechnic. Microsoft Singapore Pte Ltd Microsoft will collaborate with Republic Polytechnic through the establishment of a business solutions lab, curriculum development through Microsoft's Education Alliance Network, and other joint development initiatives. NEC Singapore Pte Ltd NEC and Republic Polytechnic will explore opportunities for collaboration in joint development programs and facilities, application developmentin biometrics for security, and staff development schemes. Oracle Corporation Singapore Pte Ltd Oracle is exploring collaborative opportunities with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of a solutions center, as well as student scholarships. Rational Software, Software Group, IBM Singapore Rational Software will support Republic Polytechnic through the Academic Adjunct Scheme and Industry Associate Scheme. Singapore Computer Systems Limited SCS will participate in Republic Polytechnic's Academic Adjunct scheme, Industry Associate scheme and student bursary scheme Sun Microsystems Pte Ltd Sun will collaborate with Republic Polytechnic in the areas of participation in the Sun Java Black Belt program as part of IDA's Infocomm Training Attachment program with attachments in Stockholm, Sweden, and California, USA. Sun will also explore the joint development of a Sun ONE technology laboratory as well as other collaborative opportunities with Republic Polytechnic. Industry Certifications Our diploma programmes are designed to cover key technical areas for various certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), SUN Certified Programmer for Java, Oracle Certified Associate, Checkpoint Certified Security Advisor, Adobe Developer Certifications, etc. These certifications add value by validating technical skills and enhancing the status of a student as an IT professional to prospective employers and clients.
